An initial lack of teaching skills is an inherent problem in industry, where the major criteria for hiring is technical skill rather than teaching expertise, which for most new supervisors is a new profession to be learned.
Many trainers are also asked to teach without ever having been taught how to do so.

Problems with Other Resources
Approximately 30% of the screens in this software are interactions that make the learner think. As well, brochures and books and most web resources do not utilize video.

Traditional and online courses have an inherent problem in that knowledge is often gained over months, which does not solve the need for immediate skills. As well, these courses typically only focus on a subset of the needed skills.
A compounding problem is that new full-time trainers often only have the time to "survive" and do not have extra time to take a course.
